Day 1, Sept 17 2018: Departure from Honolulu We were able to make a smooth departure from Honolulu on Hawaiian Airlines – the TSA checkpoints weren’t even that crowded! Day 1/2   Honolulu – Narita – Shinagawa It was a smooth departure despite the busy summer travel season. Korean Airline served 2 full meals on the flight to Narita from Honolulu.  I chose the most popular inflight menu, Bibimbap, where you mix rice, sesame oil, hot sauce in your bowl with vegetables. Day 1   Honolulu ~ Narita Airport On the day of departure, we checked in early for our flight.We had plenty of time to explore the airport terminal shops before boarding time. Our flight was delayed 15 minutes but we had a pleasant ride to Narita. The choices for the inflight meal was vegetable fried rice or chicken and rice. They even served ice cream! Day 1&2: Eight people including myself left Honolulu at 2:10 pm and safely arrived in Kansai around 6:30 pm without any turbulence.  It was a long flight.  The bus ride to our hotel also took about 3 hours from the airport with a rest stop.  It was too dark to see the famous NARUTO whirlpools but we are looking forward to see that on the way back to Ōsaka on our last day.
