National Stadium in Kasumigaoka,Shinjuku,Tokyo, served as the main stadium for the Tokyo Olympic Games in 1964.
Various kinds of sports stadiums were constructed for the Tokyo Olympic Games in and around Tokyo, among which three National Stadiums in Tokyo were served for the major games such as running events and soccer. They are present Kasumigaoka Stadium, Yoyogi Stadiums in Shibuya and Nishigaoka Stadium in Kita Ward. The picture shows Aoyama gate of Kasumigaoka Stadium, where the opening and closing ceremony were held. Today, it is used for domestic track and field events as well as concert performances in that it is below the international standard for an athletic sports.
