Osaka Minami (Dotonbori District)
“Where to eat in Osaka? ” What a difficult question to answer! Imazine you are on the famous Ebishubashi bridge located at the center of Osaka’s entertainment district, Minami, and you will know what I mean.
Too many great restaurants, food stalls, dinning bars. “I had the most delicious and reasonably-priced meal in my entire trip in Japan.” A guy from Calfornia told me.
No wonder!! Because, Osaka is traditionally considered the “nation’s kitchen”, or the gourmet food capital of Japan and the most famous proverb to describe Osaka is “Kuidaore” which means “to ruin oneself by extravagance in food”. And Dotonbori is the main destination for food travel in Osaka.
I myself visit Minami every two weeks for dinner, still never get bored. Pretty easy to find the bridge, because of many of iconic signs like, Glico, Asahi and etc. all of them lit up beautifully at night. You can’t miss them. Once you find the bridge, that is the starting point to explore great food capital Osaka!
